I just got back into Denver from Lawrence, Kansas, where I attended the wonderful, beautiful Wakarusa music festival. If you haven't heard of it, check out

Anyway, like all festivals of its kind, Wakarusa was equipt with many vendors of wholesale and handmade goods, but I have never seen the likes of such a thing as I saw this weekend. A couple of guys from Evergreen, just near where I am in Denver, were set up with a tent
packed with clean, never before worn vintage clothing. They told me that the owner of a closed department store in Salt Lake City that hadn't been cleaned out since 1976 looked this guy up on the web as a vintage dealer and sold him the entire time-capsule worth of men's and women's clothing. They all still have the original price tags on them :shock: ! Dresses were $30 or two for $50 and coats (the groovy kind with sheepskin lining) were as low as $40! They told me that because of the brutal women's vintage clothing market online, they are only selling the women's clothing on the road. However, they do sell the men's clothing at
www.wordlesssongs.com. Now, they are on thier way to Coffee County, near Manchester, TN for this weekend's Bonnaroo music festival.
Unfortunately, as I spent all of my money shopping when I was home in Springfield, IL a few weeks ago, I had no extra money to spend on any of this lovely clothing :cry: . But, if you are planning on going to Bonnaroo, TN this weekend, make that $200-ticket even more worth it and take an extra $30-$50 for the most amazing, 5-star vintage clothing you will ever see (oh, and enjoy some Radiohead for me)! If you don't have a ticket to the festival however, and especially if you're not into hanging out with some pretty eclectic, albeit smelly individuals, don't even try to get in. If you can imagine, the place is a zoo. Check it out at

As for Wakarusa, for any of you interested in how it was... A-W-E-S-O-M-E. Though a bit hot at times, the weather was very forgiving in the evenings and Sunday morning woke up with some nice clouds. The heat was fine by me, because I just cooled down at the beach RIGHT ON THE FESTIVAL GROUNDS
! The schedules were great, at least I was able to see everyone I wanted to see, the walk was okey, or you could take the shuttle bus, and the authorities, which consisted of police, security, and the state park service, seemed pretty tolerant to me (although you always hear the rumors about them being pigs, regardless). Unlike Bonaroo, the crowds were a tolerable size, the tickets were affordable, bicycles were allowed and there was even room and roads to drive into town if needed. Oh, and more impostantly, shade, showers, and clean potties every day! Despite my fair share of bug bites and poisin ivy, Wakarusa was definitely the best festival I have ever been to! :wink: [/i]
