I volunteer on Thursdays at the Cape May County Animal Welfare Society thrift store on Route 47.
https://www.cmcaws.com/Above is the link for the shelter, with the address.
This is a great little store, and 100% of the proceeds benefit the shelter and the critters therein. (If you're looking to adopt a little kitty, the shelter has have some adorable ones!!)
We got lotsa bears fresh from the store with ORIGINAL tags and stands, $5. Dog leashes, doggy bandanas, some doggy costumes - a buck. Books are a big 25 cents each, we got more Christmas stuff than you can shake a candy cane at. Nearly all at a buck or less. We got records -- not picked through records, with only Barbra Streisand and Guy Lombardo, like all the other thrift stores in the world. We got actual rock acts. 50 cents. There's not a huge selection, but what's there is good. We got jewelry, from $1 to $3.
What we don't have is clothes. Well, we do have a pair of shoes or two, and a scarf or two, but we got rid of 99% of the clothes we had, because a) space is limited, and b) clothes were hardly moving. Even at a buck.
We got whole sets of dishes (and there's a REALLY pretty set there at the moment) for $5.
We got toys, we got lamps, we got framed pictures, we got housewares.
Out of all the stuff in the store, about 98% is a dollar or less. Can't beat it.
The store is open from Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00 am until 3:00.
