I checked out an altered art book from the library & found a great idea for transforming old multi-record album sleeves into memory albums. I had been wanting to make a journal cover or album cover without having to buy a new journal or album. When I saw this I knew I could find some of these old record albums at the Salvation Army. I found a nice one for 99 cents. It has a great leather binding & embossed musical intruments down the spine. Actually the manager wanted to charge me 2.99 for the album, which wasn't right because none of the records were marked & there is a sign that says that records are 99 cents unless otherwise marked. I told her I just wanted the album & didn't care about the records, so she took the records out & gave me the album for 99 cents. What they are going to do with the records, who knows? Real geniuses these people are.
The album pictured in the book is great, but more of a project than I wanted so I went with something simpler using my wallpaper samples, & other goodies. I am not completely done, but you get the idea. The records sleeves are not acid free, so you would only want to use copies of pictures. Great project for a dreary winter day!
