The Salvation Army Family Store

This is what I would call a typical Salvation Army Family store. The prices are cheap and the selection is dated.

The prices are ridiculous!! All of the Goodwill stores prices around here are super high! It's a thrift store where people DONATE... not a consignment shop!! I dislike 99.9% of the Goodwills around here for this reason!

Everything is crammed together, dirty and the prices are outrageous. The check-out area is dirty, I never want my clothes to touch the counter. Everything washed right away. Do that anyway, but this place makes me want to REALLY do it.

Exceptionally helpful workers, and I found some fun finds too!

This store is in massive need of reorganization. It's dirty and impossible to shop/select merchandise due to the tight squeezing in of clothing on the rack and broken item for sale scattered about housewares. Half the inventory needs to be sent to the landfill.

Im pretty sure the store is under new management. The new manager seems to care about the store because it has changed alot! Its a lot cleaner, there's more selection, the staff was smiling, and it was all around a pleasant shopping experience. Definately better than the last time I was in there!

This is one of the "BEST" thrift stores in Des Moines.

i went in looking for bikes...usually all salvation army stores sell them but this one did not! they send all their bikes to the location downtown!
