Been reorganized many times over the years, selection is good but I wish they had more men’s clothes. One thing you can count on is the books section (the best in town) well organized and a constant flow of new books stocked every week.
Very good book section, maybe best in town, organized. Been going here 8 years and now they're trying for a used boutique look in the front. Some of that stuff is overpriced. Good clothes selection, ok priced. Seems that management turns over pretty often. Cats don't stink.
Super clean! I think they wash things before they put them out. Very organized! The good things go fast here, because people know this is a good store. I love to come here when I'm bored because it has good energy. And then there are cats to look at too. Furniture is overpriced. Otherwise the clothes and books are amazingly priced.
Like a lot of people I do not just shop at one thrift store, but I make the SPCA my first choice because of the book section. The books are reasonably prices well organized and you can tell the people who work there care about keeping it neat
This use to be my favorite thrift store, now I no longer shop or donate here. They keep the donations piled in the back, its dirty, the people are rude and take forever to even greet you. I only donate and shop where I know it really makes a difference.
I used to like this store, but they've changed management, and must be super picky about what they put out on the floor because the selection that it used to have is not as abundant as it used to be. Dissappointing. BTW the cat area doesn't smell, contrary to what some reviewers are saying.
When ever I shop at a thrift store I always check out where the money goes and what its used for. The SPCA uses the money to help pay for the shelter so if items cost a bit more once and a while I am happy knowing that its going for a good cause. The store is clean and well organized, as an animal lover the occasional cat that crosses you path is really cool. But the real gem is the book section, its organized, subjects are sectioned out and well maintained to the point of the fiction being alphabetized by author!
I don't agree with some of the previous reviews that say it stinks near the cat area (unfounded, visited 7/16/2010), and I agree SOME of the prices seem a bit higher but compared to local other thrift shops like Value Village and Salvation Army not far down the road their selection is good for a smaller store AND the range of brands (high and low) are good for a smaller space to offer. Some of the higher priced items may or may not be higher end brands, or are just in better condition but are NOT prices you would get in retail stores even after a discount was applied. Book selection is good, only one room to try on products (also plays the role as the bathroom for guests) so try to do all of your fittings in one setting (no limits).
This used to be my favorite thrift store til new management took over. Now price tags justify the high price, exa: "NEW Eddie Bauer skirt $8.50" Few good deals remaining like Nalgene water bottles 50 cents, large book selection reasonably priced. The cat cage in the back often stinks. The bargain room with dirty metal stuff, old camping gear and 1980s tvs is smelly too. The front room is artfully arranged.
They changed the selection a pricing about a year ago. You used to be able to go in and find a good bargain but they decide to go more "up-scale"...weeded out the selection and raised prices. I rarely find anything in there to purchase anymore. I do sometimes find a good book. The book prices are still reasonable.
