PRICES ARE AWFUL!!!!! I saw soooooo many items that were priced at full retail or above retail. I saw many that I could definitely buy new at a regular store for less than this "thrift" store's price. I used to be a regular customer of this thrift store a few years ago and regularly spent $100-200 a week there. I heard that since then, they realized there were a few resellers who bought every week after a shipment came in. Since that time, new management got greedy and thought that they would increase the prices to full retail, pocketing the extra profits themselves. NOT GOOD! After that decision, they have steadily increased their prices to the ridiculously high prices I've seen this past week. Most of their inventory sits and sits forever.... I must say that their staff is wonderful and their store is clean. However, management's decision to price high and reduce sales volume was a BAD DECISION. I'm positive that over the last year or two, Hope Thrift's Clearwater store's gross sales have noticeably decreased since the management's philosophy has changed. A good thrift store thrives when they price low and sell much more volume which ultimately increases their profits. I will stop in to Hope Thrift, from time to time, to see if they have smarten up and lowered their prices. If they don't, I will continue to leave their overpriced store empty handed. So sad! Since this store has been reorganized, it seems cluttered. Prices are inconsistent, and customers must remember that these itms are still "used," I have found similar clothing (even on designer items) on sale in department stores. I am very disappointed with with the Attic has done to its "resale" store, and cannot seem to find bargains there. (Read More)
