I read in the paper today (see link below) that the observation tower at Mount Sugarloaf in S. Deerfield MA is being used for the new Mel Gibson movie being shot here in MA.  That is where I took the pic of the CT river valley you see in my avatar.  I saw a posting for extra auditions being held locally several weeks ago, but we never went.
Anyway if you see that movie someday, maybe you'll recognize the background!

How exciting!  Are you going to watch them shoot the film?

Unfortunately access to the mountain (which is a state park) was closed on the days they were shooting the film so I couldn't drive up there to watch.  I am not sure if they are done shooting in that location now, they were going to shoot in Northampton too which is close by.  I am interested to see what it looks like on film, sometimes you can barely recognize the area in which a film was shot depending on how much "movie magic" is involved.  I know they built a whole new observation tower (which will be dismantled after the shooting is done) because apparently the real one is not what they had in mind for the movie.
