Oh Yeah!

I was just reading the thread about toys being discontinued due to the lead problem. I thought I'd take a photo of my favorite vignette of stuffed bunnies and books. The Velveteen Rabbit is the best book ever and I am well educated and well read. I have never read Nancy of Paradise Cottage or Nancy the Joyous.
That's just my 'real life' alias . . . LOL
Now show or tell me about your favorite toy(s)

I LOVE the velveteen rabbit and have a few different editions of the book.  My favorite stuffed animal as a kid was a bunny that I dragged around everywhere, so that is probably why I love that book.

I have found some neat old toys in the past at thrifts, but not lately as those type of toys don't seem to show up too much anymore.  My favorite one was a Pin the Nose on the Pinocchio game from the 30's or 40's, I can't remember exactly.  Old Disney stuff has great artwork.

If I see a good Playmobil or Lego set I will pick it up for Ebay.  The playmobil sets are nostalgic for me as my daughter loved those when she was younger.  I also love finding good vintage children's books, those have also become harder to find.

I am a definite sucker for beautiful artwork. Children's books are where to find it. I grew up reading and I'll never get over it. Sigh@

I often buy children's books even tho my own kids are nearly grown just because I like the art work.  While working at a local school as a sub a few years ago, the library was throwing out some old books.  Several of them were from teh 40s and 50, the covers damaged but the art work inside was amazing.  The books came home to live here.
