Yesterday I stopped in at my favorite thrift for a quick browse before work.  Not much of anything jumped out at me, save for a really pretty scard that was half off, so $1 instead of $2.  Looked at the rack of odds and ends near the door and found easily the most unusual find in a while.
A bag of Prisma colored  art pencils, a dozen of them, for $.60, brand new never used, not even sharpened.  What's so unusual about that?  Every blessed one of them was bright screamin' lime green.  I bought them anyway, DD  being a design student and all.  She said they are the brand they use in her studio classes and run about $2 a piece, and they used that color surprizingly more than you might guess.  I said great, she could give one to every student in her class and I would still be ahead.   She said no, she would just keep them and let the class wonder.  Her studio classes seem a dull bunch from what she says.  Strange for design students.  OH well, I did good.
Edited to add lime green seems to be the color for the week.  A while back, some months ago anyway, I found some lime green stretch lace at a thrift.  Odd color for a stretch lace, and I bought what there was.  Used some on a dress for DD (she is a redhead) and I had a little over a yeard left.  Last week a sewing buddy was looking for stretch lace, she was desperate so any color would do.  I offered the scrap to her and she was thrilled.  Seems she is making a dress and needed some for the neckline.  Lime green it seems would be perfect. I've said it before, when I find it someone seems to need it. Never seems to fail.

Speaking of Art Class - scored a medium sized "ARTBin" for $1.50 today at Salvation Army.  Not sure what I can use it for, but it was a good buy anyway as they are about $20.00 or so new (at least that's what they were in 1983).

And Speaking of Speaking - Scored a Road Pro "Truck Spec" CB microphone for $3.99 at GW today.  There was also a magnetic antenna mount, but the plastic housing was broken, and it was beyond reasonable repair.
