Last weekend the food bank thrift was closed for "renovations".  When I went in on Tuesday I was so excited to see that the Christmas room was up, although it is not actually a room this year but a corner of the store.

They also put out a big selection of Halloween stuff.  I think some store must have donated a bunch of stuff because they have all kinds of brand new Halloween costumes.

So far just a few things but I did pick up this old fall garland today for 25 cents.  My daughter has a late Oct. b-day so I can use this as a decoration.  I have to open it carefully to preserve the nice old package.

For Christmas I found this 60's/70's Alpine village.  There are some bottle brush tree and figures that are not part of the original set too and they even threw in a new set of battery operated lights- $2.00 for all.

Not exactly Christmas, but the GW in Olympia had some great fall decor and I got a load of cute Halloween stuff.  Now I just need a bit more fall garland and a wreath and I am in business!

I got the best Halloween candy bowl!!  $3 and it is heavy stoneware with a creepy hand in the middle of it.  Really cute.  I got $.29 Jack O Lanterns of all different colors and hung them in my tree in the front yard.  I will take a pic of how I dressed up my bistro set out front for around $5.  I want to try and run by Value Village today since my kids have football in town today...let's hope I get there!!

Those decorations and the bowl sound cool, great price on the jack-o-lanterns.

The food bank thrift by me got a big donations of brand new packaged Halloween costumes and they are only charging a buck a piece for them (love that store!).  I am trying to convince my daughter to wear the Galaxy Girl (think Jetsons) costume they had there but she seems uninterested.

I wish I could find some vintage Halloween decorations.  They are super scarce around here.  No wonder they sell for big bucks online.

The manager at the one decent Salvation Army in this area wanted to do a Christmas room as she has done in the past but the new "Captain" for this region said he didn't want the stores doing that.  Weird since they are a religious organization.  I think they are missing out on a good retail opportunity.  The food bank thrift is selling lots of Christmas stuff.
