I love Fenton art glass, as I know A LOT of people do. I have been lucky to seem to find it quite often at various thrift stores. Some of the pieces I love and always KEEP when I find them are the Fenton "crests." They made silver crest, emerald (green) crest, aqua (blue) crest, ebony (black ) crest, and so on. Silver crest is always the most common, and I have found several pieces of it. Here are some that grace my home/collection:

The first is a crimped bon-bon (candy) dish. It has a silver handle in the middle and is just beautiful. I found it at the Salvation Army for $2.00.

The next is a small little decorative dish, found a thrift for .99 cents.

One of the more recent ones is a HUGE and I mean HUGE fruit bowl? I found it late in the day sitting on the bottom shelf inside a mixing bowl. I couldn't believe it. I found it at the same Salvation Army I found the bon-bon dish, although a few months later. It was only $3.00 or less I believe!

The final piece of Fenton Silvercrest I have found is a compote dish, found at a thrift for $1.00!

All of them are in mint condition and date from the mid 1950s. I have found lots more Fenton but have sold a lot of it on ebay. You just can't keep everything!

You just can't keep everything!

Now you are sounding too much like the MEN in my life - especially my son. (Love them dearly)

Got a little hobnail Fenton basket for a buck today to use with Easter decorations.  The milkglass ones usually sell for less than 10 bucks on Ebay, but a buck is still a bargain.  Any milk glass collectors would have loved the piece I saw at the SA yesterday- a HUGE Westmoreland milk glass sawtooth lidded compote/bowl.  The largest size, I think, the 14".  They wanted 8 dollars for it, I was surprised to see that these pieces don't sell for much on Ebay, although I didn't see any of the 14" size so maybe I am wrong.  I skipped it anyway.

I would have bought it for .40 cents too!  Isn't it great not to have to give it a second thought?  When the stuff is priced much over 3 or 4 dollars I have to stop & think do I really need this?  Unless it is a valuable collectible of course.

Speaking of that my daughter & I were at the SA 10 minutes before closing, she tried on a great dress in the style she has been looking for- new with tags, the tag had a price of over 60 dollars.  It was priced at $12.99, which is too much, in my opinion, for thrift store clothes (I was at Kohl's this weekend where there was a ton of stuff under 10 bucks).  However in the morning it will be half price so I will hopefully snag it then.  I put it back in a different spot in the rack in case someone else is thinking the same thing.  I will post a pic if I get it!

Speaking of Wedgwood I totally forgot I found some Wedgwood Beatrix Potter children's dinnerware at the SA for 89-99 cents each a little over a month ago.  So cute!  Do you know the pattern of your plate, they make so many pretty ones!
