I wanted to share the link to some photos of ones I've thrifted over the past year or so, including the lucite bag I'd thrifted from the Good Samaritan thrift store this last weekend.

I'd always HOPED for a lucite bag-- I think they're so artistic. (Saw a collection on BBC's Cash in the Attic and have been hooked since.) So if I never find another thrifted purse again, I can still be happy. Smiley The link is here:

Beautiful purse!  BTW, LOVE your blog.  I've spent hours reading and I still haven't seen it all.  You do a great job!

Thanks! With the lucite one, I can't help but feel I should put it on a pedestal under glass or something. Shine a light on it. Smiley

That MOP & lucite bag is a real collector's piece, I would display it proudly (actually I'd sell it & make some money, but I am a shameless capitalist).  I am not a big handbag person I have a few nice ones that I rotate but I would agree that really great handbags are few & far between at the thrifts.  The one vintage bag I found & kept was a wicker bag.  I had been looking at them on Ebay because wicker bags were so popular last summer.  I happened upon this one for 3 bucks at the SA

It was my lucky tag sale bag last summer.  I don't think it would be lucky to use a "lucky" bag for a second summer, so I will have to come up with a new lucky bag for this year.  The one great bag I stupidly passed up last fall was a red patent leather Francisco Biasia bag that was probably worth about $300!

Those are some absolutely fabulous purses!  What great finds.  What does the inside of the lucite purse look like?  Is it in great condition too?

Oh, Valley, that's a really nice one. A great deal for $3 and some excellent detailing!

Chris, yup, the purse is in amazing condition. The inside looks like the outside-- no chips or cracks in the lucite, nothing. A TINY bit of wear on the little brassy feet, but just enough to show someone set it down a few times. The hinges and everything are in really nice conditon.

I about fell over when I got a look at it.
