You found some good stuff!  Congratulations.
We had lots of yard sales around but not much I wanted.  Oh well, after my find yesterday I can't complain.

Sounds like some good finds.  Always very satifying to come home with a boxful of stuff for only a few dollars.  This morning I had my alarm set for 6:00 but I could not get out of bed until about 7:15 so I missed the best finds but did get a few things:

Vintage Mexican silver jewelry for .50 cents each- love silver bangles for the summer, will add them to the other Mexican silver bangle I found at a thrift for .50 cents too.  Bangles probably tourist pieces but still cute!  The screw back earrings are marked "Mexico Silver", which according the the online encyclopedia of silver marks, was used between the 20's & 40's I don't know what the green things are- any ideas?

For linens I found a vintage piece of Asian toile print fabric for .25 cents and an old needlepoint pillow backed with silk & filled w/feathers.  I paid 5 bucks for the pillow, which is more than I usually pay, but its an oldie & I asked to include the embroidered pillow case w/my initials (in the wrong order, but close enough) for the 5 bucks.  That was one sale I should have shown up earlier for- lots of old quilts, etc that were gone by the time I got there.

Lastly I went to a sale at the home of a woman who is a Stampin Up demonstrator (if you scrapbook, you know this brand).  She was selling excess inventory, which was too pricey for me, but was also selling these handmade cards used for demos for 5/$1.00.  If you have ever seen handmade cards at gift shops you now what a bargain that is.  Got some cute ones, should have bought more.  Oh, also a bag of vintage cake toppers & cupcake picks for .50 cents, which I have been hoping to find.

Well thats enough babble, hopefully will get up earlier next weekend!

Heehee. Love your story, VTS, about sleeping "late" and missing all the good stuff. It's one of the reasons I never make it to garage sales here in the Sunshine state. Today I read that one of them started at 6:30 AM (groan!) That's the middle of the night for some of us. Plus, if it officially starts at 6:30 AM, you just know that all the good stuff is gone by 5:30 AM: Pickers and dealers probably just parked in front of the house to wait until the first spark of light.

Anyway, great haul for y'all today. I think the green stone in those earrings may be onyx or agate, from what I can tell from the pic.  That embroidered pillow is fabulous! I would have coughed up the big bucks too, 'cause how often do ya find something that cool?

Great finds... I love the needlepoint pillow. I collect those but have no where to display them so now I have to "really like them" in order to buy them:)Maybe some day...

I have to get to more garage sales. I have a hard time finding time with my other hobbies .

I went for the first time to a small flea market a mile from my house. 95% of it is booths selling new "junk"-dollar store items, t-shirts, hats, etc... There were maybe 5 booths with used items.  I got a blender for 1.00(been looking for one). I saw but didn't buy a cake saver with an aluminum top and glass plate bottom, it said "cake" and was made by Kromex. It was $5.  Well, then I went home and later in the day, looked it up on ebay.... So, that required a frantic trip back to the flea market and thank goodness it was still there:)  I saw the same one listed for $45 plus shipping when I googled it.  There is one for $135 on ebay.... but I highly doubt it would sell for that:)

Saturday was a big day at our house. We hit several thrifts and the garage sales along the way between. My daughter was the big winner (as usual) and got many clothes. Ralph Lauren, Laura Ashley, Benneton, Tommy Hilfiger, Strausburg, Hanna's, Gymborie all at $1.00 a piece. Hooray my Goodwill. My princess gets to dress like a princess! (the one on the other side of town has MUCH higher pricing on these things) She also got some Little Tykes yard toys for $3 each.  I got a glass cowboy boot mug that my Dad designed, a great Old Navy raincoat, and a nifty Jif peanut butter cookbook. Someday when I have time I'll share some of THAT joy with you. ( Peanut butter cole slaw...peanut butter and tuna salad melts........ackkkkkk) And DH brough home more stereo stuff and a toy chest full of pirates.  The coolest thing we dragged home though was a red plaid fabric thermos lunch bag. Looks kinda like a bowlingbag, except there is a red plastic box inside and 2 plaid thermoses. Just like the ones from the movie The Jerk. I had to stand in the aisle and sing " I'm picking out a thermos for you.." It was fun.
