I picked up a beautiful Pink Peony bowl by Roseville at a garage sale for 50 cents!! Saw the same exact bowl online at an auction site for $225!! What a bargain!

I recently sold an antique english scale on consigment but could barely get $100 for it despite seeing it on an online auction site where they were wrote "Estimate $250 - $450
Starting Bid $125". So I hate to burst your bubble but you can't always go by these online sites. For us common folk eBay is a better gauge and there your bowl doesn't look like its worth that much.

Thats ok, I don't plan to try and sell it anyway. I just like to have nice things, and if I get a bargain, then its all the better! Lots of  yard sales and thrift stores here in the Phoenix area.

Double ditto on the Score comment.  I would love to find a piece of Roseville for 50 cents.  I picked up a simple McCoy cream colored vase for I think 50 cents or a dollar at one of my favorite thrifts a while back and I put flowers in it whenever I can get cheap ones (fresh flowers are expensive these days!) at the supermarket.  It makes me happy to look at it, I am sure you will get alot of enjoyment from your bowl.

Congrats! Nice to hear it's going into everyday use-- we could all use a little more beauty in our lives  Smiley
FYI for everyone on finding Roseville at too-good-to-be-true prices, tho:
In the 80s the US market was flooded with cheap Chinese knock-offs of many Roseville pieces. They were cast from original pieces and the glazes were so good they've even fooled some appraisers! About the only way to tell they're fakes is that the colors hand-painted onto the raised areas like flower petals are sloppily applied and appear 'off' by a bit (due to quick & dirty production methods)- something the original Roseville Pottery would never have allowed to market.
Nothing wrong with a knock-off copy for personal enjoyment, but attempting to sell as the real thing could be disastrous to a seller's reputation and could even result in being banned from eBay!
