So I've been doing some mega garage-saling this summer and have come home with many great items (which i plan on posting pictures of if I ever get time!). But anyway, this one particular item has me stumped. I couldn't find it online anywhere, so thought I'd ask the experts (that's you guys). Basically, I'm trying to place some kind of value on this before I can resell it. It's a wooden carving of The Swineherd by Hans Christian Andersen, and the business card of the sculptor is on the bottom. I checked the address, and it's from Denmark. Also, under the card is the carving of this person's initials. It really is a cool item! And by the way, I paid a quarter for it.

Wow! Wish I could help you....That is cool! I'd have grabbed it if I'd seen it, that's for sure, & I'd be curious about it too...

Hi, that really is a unique piece and it got my curiosity going so I googled some of what was on the card and found this website http://www.billedskaerer.com/profil.htm .  It's not in English but it does have some wood carvings that look very similiar to your piece by (I'm assuming) the person on the site? You might want to use an online translater to translate some of the info on the site? Great find! Hope it turns into something great for you:-)

I wonder if "Fr." is "Frater", i.e., a monk?  Might see if there's a monastery in that area that sells wood carvings.

I found something on this a while ago now, and I think the Fr. stood for Frederick.
