What a day I had,  fellow Thriftshoppers!

Went out to look and explore.
Nothing less, nothing more.
And what I found,
Perhaps might astound...

Royal Bayreuth Candlestick holder! Signed with the blue crest!

It was 2 bucks! I checked on the net (Kovels) and it read, "Royal Bayreuth signed Elk candlestick holder, 1995, $675" Do you think it's possible? Any ideas out there? Even if it's worth only $75, or even 7.50, it's still great.

And then, "The Lonely Bull":

Signed and dated on the bottom by the artist. He's from 1969. He's also anatomically correct Grin.

Forgot to mention, he's a decanter. There's the top on his back. I don't think he's ever been used. The artist is Eric Olsen. Could he have had a liquor in him, do ya think?

Spacecadet found a Lena Horne album from 1956, which was recorded live at the Empire Room at the Waldorf Astoria (which I've been to, but not in 1956 Wink)

What do you guys think? I'm in vintage heaven!

Wow! I am humbled by your compliment. (But then, I am in very good company on this site Grin Grin)  Thanks ((((blushing)))) I had spent about an hour in the thrift just looking at things and couldn't find anything that was "worthy" Angry Something told me to go back to the "chatcki" (seriously sp) area before I left, and found these within minutes. I guess the employees were putting stuff out.

This was my big weekend event, lol. Yesterday hubby and I spent the entire day doing house stuff (groan). It never seems to end. But my house loves the attention Wink

Kovel's is usually pretty accurate.  Actually, since it is a 1995 value it may be worth even more now.  I once found a 1930's Disney game that Kovel's had a mid-90's value of $40, but it sold for $120, because early Disney stuff is very popular.  If your candlestick is in mint condition, I'd cash in on it- you could have months of "free" thrifting!

Not exactly the same but similar and going for $475.  Sounds like you got some great finds.

The Thrift Gods are smiling because Seso was smart and found a good home for their castoffs! lol! You done good girl! I have a similar bull, not the same, it isnt a decanter, more like a charging bull with its head up in the air and its two front legs out, and its in bright bright (are you ready for this?) ORANGE! Lol! I know its vintage because a elderly client gave it to me and he must have had it forever, very kitchy and unique!  Cheesy

For now, they stay, genuineimitation. The bull has great sentimental value (don't laugh--it involves my mom and late brother Sad); the candle stick, while I love it--it's so heathen, so pagan, (I'm sure that wasn't the intent, lol) will most likely get sold in the next few months. What I want to do now is make sure it isn't a repro, which I'm about 95% sure it isn't. I'll keep y'all posted,

I have to go channel Herb now, TSR Wink Wink

You are sooooooooooooooooooo funny! Actually, that price is probably what the local antiques and "collectibles" dealers would offer me, after telling me that it's worth nothing, but they would be happy to take it off my hands.  Come to think of it, the locals would expect me to pay THEM $3 to take it off my hands, lol! Thanks for giving me a good chuckle, GI Wink Wink
