My MIL is in a nursing home and her birthday is Sunday.  I am in charge of decorations so went out today looking for something to use.  I had to go past my favorite thrift on my way so stopped for a quick look before venturing on.  Am I glad I did.  Decor heaven today.
I decided on a fall theme, leaves, pumpkins, etc.  Found 3 scarecrow dolls for $1.29 each, a great ceramic pumpkin for $3, some leaf garlands for $.59 apiece  and a gorgeous fall angel doll for $2.  Even found some plastic tablecloths for $.60 each.
After all that all i had to get at the store were some balloons, birthday candles and fall colored candies.   I'm so excited. ON top of all he decor stuff I found two fleece jackets for DS's Scout troop, two pretty colored ceramic fish plates, several books and an Asian style shadow box with an antiquey looking horse in it.  All for less than $23.  I love thrifting.

Great score on the party stuff, it is really insane to pay alot for party stuff since it usually gets tossed after the party.  I have to say though the Dollar Tree dollar store chain has a pretty decent party/paper supply section.  I have outfitted many a Birthday party through them.

Isn't it ALWAYS a thrill to find what you're looking for and paying next to nothing for it???

Sure is.
The fall angel looked a little shopworn so after I got her home I fixed her up a bit, some new flowers, a few silk leaves and some little plastic pumkins made her look brand new.  I discovered that she actually was fiber optic and still worked.  She was on the gift table.  One of MILs friend loved her and kept going on an on about how pretty she was.  Apparently the woman collects angels.  So at the end of the party when the lady stayed to clean up and was still talking aobut the angel I picked her up and said here, she's yours.  The lady said something about how shel couldn't and the angel was too expensive forr her to accept.  I said no she isn't, keep her.  Didn't tell the lady the doll only cost $2.
