I found this at the new thrift store the other day for $2.99. I thought it was a pitcher (which I've started collecting), but it's not really. I couldn't place it until I found it on ebay, listed as a "coffee server." Either way, it's still cool looking.

Oooh. That's a nice color! Is that dark blue or black?

Is it made of ceramic or metal?

It is black ceramic.

Has some nicks and whatnot, but that just adds character, right?

Nicks are only what you really need to worry about if you were gifting or reselling, I think.Smiley

It does have a ton of character. How do you plan to use it/decorate with it? I was wondering whether flowers might go into it, or if it was going to be Art, or what the plan was?

hmm, I'm terrible with decorating. for now it's just sitting on top of my kitchen cabinets with the other pitchers (that are actually pitchers), a teapot, and a dead plant (i should water that thing more often than every other month).

i was thinking it would look cool as a centerpiece on the table with some flowers or something. they'd have to be fake though, as you see, i have bad luck with live plants.

Hey Thriftymama!

Your collection is beautiful...you have a great "eye"

I was thinking about how you could use your latest find, which has such versatile lines, for the holidays:  For a Harvest/Thanksgiving theme, you could place sheaves of wheat in it, or dried grasses, with pumpkin "picks".

For Christmas, you can place some of those faux pinky-white poinsiettas or stack
gold or color-mixture ornaments.  Right around this time, thrifts are putting out their holiday goodies (at least in my area), and I'm seeing bags of ornmanents and "picks" for a dollar. Or maybe find some of those long Christmas tree beads and drape them over the sides...looks like jewels and treasures. This would work for Madi Gras, too.

Nice!  It looks versatile- you can display is as-is, or jazz it up with other stuff.

I rather like it up there with all the other different colored yet similarly shaped objects. It doesn't look like it needs a thing, maybe just a garland of greenery to go on top of the cabinets behind the vases.
