Yesterday at my favorite TS, I hit pay dirt!  A Liz Claiborne 100% silk vest, in off white, heavily, and by that I mean completely covered in the front in pearls and sequins embrodiered in a paisley pattern.  Absolutely gorgeous.  A size Small, so DD got it.  She loved it.  Looks brand new, although no tag attached.  Found it in the linens sections so likely someone was hiding it but I found it instead.  Best part, $4 tag, half off that and with the discount for Tuesday, paid a whole $1.60 for it.  DD thrilled.
Also found for DS Scout troop an LL Bean canteen complete with shoulder carrier, (and for me) a small package of velllum paper, a handmade baby doll, and  a silk scarf by one of my favorite designers.  Total for everything, $5.35.  I did good.

I LOVE when someone hides something and then YOU find it.  It's just so perfect, almost beyond words.  Nice work in the diligence department.

EXCELLENT FIND Grin

I often wonder if stuff I find in the wrong sections of the store is being hid, or if somebody who decided not to buy something they'd already picked up just got rid of it wherever it was convenient.

Both choices likely.
I used to work in a retail store and before a sale customers would come in a hide things all over the place.  We tried to keep up with things but it was impossible to fins everything.
And often customers would find an item, walk around the store for a while, find something cheaper orthat they liked better, and first item would end up wherever.  Then the sales staff would have to end up explaining that ""No, the item marled $99.99 is not on sale for $5.99 eventhough it is on that  sale rack."  Lots of fun that one.
That said, I have to admit to doing the same thing a few times.  I found a book one time in a TD, it was qquite expensive and I didn't have enough money on me to cover it.  So. it went on top of the bookcase, covered by a decorative scroll so no one could see it.  I returned next day and retrieved it and bought it.
