Yesterday I had a little time to kill and went into a consignment store.

Now, I NEVER go into consignment stores, because usually what's there is year-old stuff from the mall, and that generally doesn't interest me.

But dig this if you can: they had TWO pairs of Lilly Pulitzer slacks with their ORIGINAL TAGS.

And in my size.

For $18 each.

The price on the original price tags was $158.

Although I got a fantastic buy, I feel a little bad for the consignor.  This store pays consignors 40% of whatever anything sells for, so Ms. Consignor only got a little over $14 for pants worth over $300.

Oh dear, don't feel bad! Consigners know what their a getting into and have to agree to the pricing before it can be taken by the shop. I often do consignment with my high end designer stuff, as it's much easier than doing all the work to list on eBay where things are either overpriced or buyers expect to pay nothing for an in demand designer! With consignment I can get better prices and clear my closet for the vintage I so love with minimal work on my end. In the end I'm happy for the extra dosh and can then seek out more vintage! Enjoy your new bargains, wear them and love them!
