Sweet!  I found a dollar in a purse yesterday, sadly that was the most exciting thing I have seen lately.  The purse was the fakest coach purse I have ever seen and they priced it at 20 dollars!  I think the dollar inside was more valuable than the purse itself!  It is funny though, the only other time I found money in a thrift store item was when I went to look at another cheap knock-off bag & found some change- weird.

I did start my free decoupage class that I mentioned a while ago.  One of the instructors is also knowledgeable about decorative painting & is going to instruct me with painting some little items (suitcases, small furniture) for free!  I'll post some pics if they come out well.  Makes up for lousy thrifting of late.  Hope you keep finding good stuff.

I'm new to this site  and I'm just THRILLED that it exists.  I go on a thrift run at least twice a week, to find stuff to resell, mostly, but also for clothes.  Nearly everything on my back is secondhand.  I draw the line at underwear, though.

Your dollar in a purse find reminds me of a purse I found at a rummage sale at a local seniors home.  In one of the pockets was a gold ring.  The purse was $2, a half hour after buying the purse, I sold the ring for $25.

Today I was out and found two old Holly Hobbie dolls -- one really big and one the next size down.  Total with tax $5.17

awesome bowls fireking! i don't know that i've ever seen jadeite in a thrift on the west coast. i started looking years ago - after martha did an article - but i've long since given up. (sigh) 'cause it would look really sweet next to my orange stuff in the kitchen!

I found a HH doll a couple of years back, bought it mostly for sentimental reasons.  Are they worth anything?  Jeannie

The real Holly Hobbie (yes she is a real person) who created the HH line lives in the next town over from me (Conway, MA).  I read an article in the newspaper a few years ago that American Greetings was bringing that line back.  I wonder how popular it has been.  Some Holly Hobbie stuff does quite well on Ebay, I would think the old dolls are collectible.

Nice job on the bowls. Its rare to find anything other than a mug in the ts's here. You got a very good price on them!

I got one of those jadite swirl bowls today at the SA for 3 bucks, I think it is the 7 or 8 inch.   Probably not worth much more than that because it has some crazing on the inside bottom, but it is rare to see any jadite around here so I bought it to keep the one lonely piece of jadite I already have company.   Smiley
