Time to clear out the VHS shelves at the Goody today. All videos were 2 for $1. So, inspired by a post here not so long ago, I took a look through (and neatened up while I was there 'cause the shelves were a total mess). By the time I was done, I had a miniature Warner Brothers collection, with:

Animaniacs!
Spooky Stuff
The Warners Escape
Animaniacs Stew
Yakko's World
Helloooo, Holidays!

Chariots Of Fur
Bugs Bunny's Overtures To Disaster (with The Rabbit Of Seville!)

And since I had to get an even number, I ent up with Lethal Weapon 4 since I have the first two and can probably find the third real easy.

Then, over to the music section...which at first glance didn't look like it had much new to offer. But I did find some goodies:

Brand X: Livestock
R. Dean Taylor: I Think, Therefore I Am
Thomas Dolby: The Golden Age Of Wireless
Ace: Five-A-Side
John Davidson: Well, Here I am (...singing country with the Jordanaires!)
Ron Eliran: What Do You Do When You're Young, White & Jewish?

Lots to listen to and watch tonight. Better get to it.

I totally do that! I almost always, as long as it's not a week long job, straiten out an area to make it easier on the next shopper.
Way to show em Z!

Enjoy your listenings and watchings!

I always loved the WB water tower segments.
LOL,  there actually is a water tower on the Burbank lot that looks just like the animated version

Ah, I was just quoting Pinky and The Brain to a friend today.

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking, Pinky?"
"I think so brain. But where are we going to find rubber pants our size?"

(That never ceases to entertain me...) Smiley

Boy, I got a Pinky & The Brain treat on one of those tapes. There's one where Brain is in a recording studio...and he's doing the infamous Orson Welles voice session.

Here's the original if you haven't heard it:

And here's The Brain:

The Brain: Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?
Pinky: I think so, Brain, but how are we going to make pencils that taste like bacon? Or maybe we should make bacon that tastes like pencils. Narf.

Did you know that Maurice LaMarche, the voice of Brain, did the voiceover for Orson Welles in "Ed Wood"? Yup, totally can't think of the actor's name right now who they got to be Orson, but they didn't like the voice he did, and voiced over with Maurice.

Not looking it up....

I think it was Vincent D'Onofrio.

Can someone see if I was right?

<<BDA testing his trivial circuits>>

Ed Wood is my favorite Johnny Depp film AND my favorite Tim Burton film.  I guess that's saying something.

I simply Adore Ed Wood. He helped me through a really depressing period in my life, lol. I became a member of the Church of the Holy Wood on Halloween, 1999. Big Daddy, I think it's in Arizona.  To keep on Topic, I've never found anything by Ed Wood or Criswell in a thrift, but I did find stuff online on eBay. As you might imagine, I was a Desparate Woman who had to feed her Ed Wood addiction. In the 50s through  whenever he stopped writing it/died, "Criswell Predicts" columns appeared every Sunday in my hometown newspaper, in the Entertainment section, of course.

I first saw Ed Wood in the mid-90s. Johnny Depp immediately became a favorite actor of mine. I purchased the soundtrack and start playing it in September, to herald the arrival of the Halloween season. There's just something about Ed Wood and Halloween that is--well, just Halloweeny--my favorite Holiday.

Yours In Wood,

First things first...

It was Vincent D'Onofrio, who played Orson Welles.

I've thrifted two Ed Wood related items - a VHS copy of Jail Bait, a really bad crime drama (but then, when you're talking about Edward D. Wood, Jr., the words "really bad" are understood); and Ed Wood - A Look Back in Angora which is a documentary about the real writer/director/producer/star.  I hate to say it, but neither is as good as the Tim Burton film.  Johnny Depp is a better Ed Wood than Ed Wood.

I can't say that I've ever heard of the Church of the Holy Wood, but in the Burton film, he gets baptized in order to secure funding for Plan 9 From Outer Space.

I can fix that:  http://www.edwood.org/

I love how when Bunny (Bill Murray) gets baptized, he's O so afraid of getting his make-up smudged Cheesy

Vincent D'Onofrio, THANK YOU!! I always have trouble coming up with his name, even though I can picture him in my mind.

Yup, "Ed Wood" cracks me up. And Bunny has some great lines. A very well-written film.
