Price was a big $4.95 plus tax.

I also got a GREAT vintage canister set on this trip for $9.99 (photo to follow) and a really cute old granny-hippie dress ($1.49 -- it was half-price), that needs a little attention but which should sell for about thirty times that when I get it fixed.

Well, the price is right for the phone.  Great Find.  I would have been all over that one.

The other day I was all set to buy a 1970s stick-type phone (with the earpiece that hangs from a cradle on the side) with a dial, but realized at the last minute that the cradle was cracked and just about to break off.  Should have figured there was something wrong with it as soon as I saw what they had it priced for ($4, I think.)  Old phones are awesome, and really hot right now - unfortunately, it's not as easy to test whether they work, so it's always a crapshoot.

Jay To the Rescue may back me up on this (he KNOWS phones) - Any of those old-type "Western Electric - Property of the Bell System" phones are nigh-on bulletproof.  If you find an old one like that, it'll either work or you can flip it for parts.  They are generally a good bet.

Love the phone!  I'd love to find a red Princess that cheap.
