Hey, I hate puns like that as much as you probably do, but I had to. Just HAD to. Why?

I just found an awesome clock! It's a "digital" Lumitime alarm clock from the mid '70s. It's "digital" as opposed to digital because it's actually mechanical. I think that adds to the appeal. Lookie:

This one's complete with the instructions and warranty card, and after a few minutes getting warmed up, works just fine. The numbers are lit in neon, and the starburst thing you're about to be hypnotized by is the "seconds" indicator. There's a dot every 5 seconds and the one on top designates a new minute.

Apparently there's some demand on eBay for these. I read about one in this same style that went for over $150 last month. My price? $4.99. I don't know...I'd like to think I have a tasty slice of Keeperoni here. Welp, time to go satisfy my appetite.

Nice find!  I haven't looked at those clocks on Ebay, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were going for $150, seems like the type of thing that would.  I would want to keep the clock too it is pretty cool.  I wish I could find a cool kitchen clock.

Nice one bro.
I was in an SVDP thrift Friday and they got a donation of 4000 record albums. I looked through about 2000 before a dealer bought the lot for $700.
Wish you were there..

What a great find!  Looks like you will win whatever you decide to do,  keep or sell.  I love those situations!

Wow that's a lot of records!  Did it come from a private owner?  Find any good ones?

I got some James Bond Music, one belly dance record and some good movie soundtracks.
Apparently it was a store owner that closed.

Most records I've ever seen in a thrift store..

That must be a big store, i don't think any of my local thrifts could handle 4000 records, at least you got a pretty good look before they were snapped up.

I found my own little 70's fun item today at the Sal Army.  A Merlin Electronic Wizard game with box and instructions for 89 cents, looks like new.  I remember these from when I was a kid, but don't remember having one.   I played tic-tac-toe on it and that seemed very familiar so maybe I did have one.  That is sad that I can't remember now!

I had a Merlin. Got it along with a Simon (hence my last name here) and a Quiz Wiz one year. I think I wore all three of them out, I loved them so much.

I had a Simon, that was near the top of my Christmas list one year, I never got the Atari I really wanted though!  Had to play at the neighbors house.  I found a vintage Simon with the box a while ago at the more expensive Sal Army which I paid 5 bucks for.  I don't have any d batteries so I haven't been able to test it out yet.  I don't remember Quiz Wiz, but if I saw it I might.

I remember when those clocks first came out.  One of my friends had one in their living room, and while we were on the rug playing Masterpiece, or cards, Parchesi, we'd occasionally look up and announce "It's 2:42" or whatever time it was.

That was a big deal at the time.

I also remember when you could get a LOT of records cheap.  About 10 years ago at an auction I bought a skid chest-high of records (maybe 3,000 or so) for $5.  Lotsa soundtracks, martini music, rare stuff like Michael Parks' records, etc. etc. etc. etc.

I found a new electronic game at the food bank thrift today for a buck.  "Fabulous Fred" a 1980 game that looks like a Merlin knock-off, performs similar functions.  I don't remember anyone I know having this one, probably not as popular as Merlin, but it was only a buck, it works and has the box and all the parts.

Never heard of Merlin or Fabolous Fred.  Is the game like the Simon game?

I would also like to note, that the telephone ring in the commercial was wrong.  The ring was a dual gong ringer from a 500/2500 series telephone, yet the Trimline only had a single gong ringer installed due to the small size of the phone.

Shows the fun of knowledge on your part and a lack on the producers.
Several years ago I had a good laugh when a toilet paper started advertising themselves ad the quilted one and showed a group of ladies at a quilting bee all quilting away--
with very large knitting needles!  I laughed.  A quilting friend called the company and got a very rude explanation that no one else had noticed so what did it matter.  Apparently a lot as lots of quilters called the company about it.  The commercial was changed quickly.
And I was watching a L & O epidose once where the police burst into what was supposed to be a flop house, only I started laughing.  Hanging on the windows of this low rent flophouse were some very high end window treatments.  I even told DH the make and name of them.  He told me I knew too much:)  I probably do.
