If you like true crime, be on the lookout for:
Mindhunter

& The Cases That Haunt Us.
All of the above books are by John Douglas. he helped pioneer the FBI's Behavioral Sciences Unit, a.k.a. profiling.
Cookie got me a copy of
The Cases That Haunt Us and a photo signed by JD and his co-author, Mark Olshaker, when we first started dating.
John Douglas was the creative consultant on
The Silence of the Lambs. Scott Glen's character, Jack Crawford, is based on him.
Those books and others by Roy Hazelwood and Robert Ressler are must reads for any true crime buff.
By the way, Charles Manson never killer anyone. He just manipulated his followers into evil deeds. So says John Douglas.
