And not for the country, the dishes.
Several months ago I found a pretty complete set of a china pattern that was both Victorian and Asian.  When I found myself imagining taking tea with Sherlock Holmes of course the set had to come home with me to live.  I haven't used it but just owning it always brings a smile to my face.  I've also found odd pieces of Wedgewood, several plates with gorgeous flower designs, an assortment of trays and platters, not to mention bowls and glasses.  I even found a set of gold flatware (called Niello ware) at an estate sale a couple of months ago.
Yesterday at my favorite thrift I found 12 more plates.  Six were 12" plates in six different colors that look like Fiesta ware.  Six more were slightly smaller Haviland plates with a hand painted design of geese on a green background.  Perfect complements to the Fiesta ware colors of the larges six plates.  So I thought, use the 6 solid colors as charger plates and put the smaller ones over top, great fall colors that go with the thrifted table cloth and napkins I found a few months ago.  Except I have no room  put them since my previous finds are all taking up the space I used to have.
I think I need to take my daughter's friend's advice and open my own store.  As my daughter put it so well a while back, the hunt is actually the fun part.  Either that or my kids need to move out so I can use the dining room to display the table ware instead of using it for camping/outdoor gear storage and my dauhgter's design projects.
Be like the design mags and have the table set just to look at the china.  Oh well, someday. Until then, have to find the strenght to stay out of the hosuewares section.

I can relate to that problem, I love dishes and have dishes for every season.  I don't have room for anymore though so if I were to bring more home I would have to part with some of the lesser favorites.

Those geese dishes sound pretty, you should post a pic if you set a table with them & your other thrifted tableware.  I was thinking about giving up my dining room & making it a craft/Ebay/Etsy stuff room, but I don't have a big kitchen so I just have to be more creative with storage.

There was a great thread on this forum last year about dish collecting, you might enjoy it:
