I walked into the SA at just the right time today.  They had just put out a whole load of pink depression glass.  Some of the patterns include Dogwood, Cherry Blossom, Fortune etc.  This picture is a little over half of what I got.  The price- just under $25.00 for everything!  No chips on anything except the large bowl that has one tiny chip (they marked it down to $1.99 for me too).  I felt lightheaded as I started to unpack them at home.  I am still in shock!

Jackpot is EXACTLY the right word.  That is one SWEET find!

As we might hear on Family Guy:

Peter:  "Holy Crap, Lois, look at all these pink dishes!"
Lois:  "Those are depression-errah glass, Peetah.  They'ehre very beautiful and ray-ehre."
Brian:  "Peter, if you had a clue, you'd know that this type of dish is extremely collectible and valuable.  Antiques Roadshow had a special feature on such things not two weeks ago."
Peter:  "Yeah, whatever."

See you next time
bye for now

Ha! Funny & a good interpretation too.  I have never been able to get into that show, being a Simpsons fan from the beginning.  The gross out factor is too much for me & I do like South Park too, but something about Family Guy doesn't do it for me.  Of course , its wildly popular so what do I know? I just ran back over there because I forgot something at the supermarket which is nearby (I was too loopy from the glass find).  I left some Fortune pattern saucers because I did not think I had any cups.  When I sorted everything out I found one cup.  Unfortunately, the saucers were all gone, however there were a few Lu Ray saucers for .29 cents.  I have two Lu Ray blue cups with mismatched saucers & they had two blue saucers!  The day just keeps getting better!

Ooh!  How beautiful!  I'll bet you were very glad that you stopped at SA.  I love it when things like that happen.

I found depression glass this weekend.  Well, one cup...my aunt says its depression glass--she would know better than I would...she knows everything about dishes.  I know nothing.  It was 35 cents, and pretty, so I bought it.

describe it - if it's light blue mug with a sort of lacy look, it's the one I collect the most of, except the mugs are always expensive (rare)

milk glass tea cup (I read that sometimes they were milk glass) molded flowers and stripes--there's a seam bisecting it from the mold.  The mark on the bottom is an anchor with a capitol H thru it.
