Speaking of Ebay, I used to buy things that I really didn't want, thinking of all the money I could make if I sold it on Ebay. I have gotten over that now. I'm not going to sell on Ebay. I don't like their policies and frankly, I'm afraid Pay Pal will take my money and I'll never see it.

Anybody selling on Ebay and having good experiences?

We found these really cool old vintage, but new cowboyish belts with various silver adornment on them and kewl belt buckles.  One belt buckle is handmade out of a bunch of old buffalo head nickels.

Nice, probably worth some money too, I think those type of belts sell well online.

I sell on ebay (not a big seller, but still do it) - I haven't had a problem yet, although I know people who have.  I use paypal also - if you get delivery confirmation on your item and always mail to the ebay/paypal address listed for the person, you won't risk losing your money.

you're welcome!  the other thing is always be aware of emails pretending to be ebay asking  you to "verify your account" - those are shams aimed at getting your sign in information.   Always go directly to your "my ebay" page and check your ebay messages there - that's the legit ones.

Went shopping with my sister today.  I found a Singer featherweight folding cardtable for $27 and a mini wireless optical mouse (for my laptop)for $3.

I lucked out last summer and found a Singer Featherweight in a yard sale for 10 bucks it was in Mint Condition.  The old lady that I bought it from called it a toy.  I sold it on Ebay for 390 dollars.  It worked perfectly.  I bought my new glasses with the profit.

Exactly 1 year ago this week I bought a Singer Featherweight at a Lions Club rummage sale for $2.  The case had a broken handle, but the machine inside was in very good condition.  I try not to buy featherweights unless its a good deal.  I think the most I ever paid for one was $100, and most of them I've bought were under $50.

What do you do with all those Featherweights?  Are you a collector or just a re-seller?  I do a lot of sewing but only have one machine + serger.  My next door neightbor used to collect the old Singer treadles but used them as tables.

My mother is a collector...  She gets first dibs on every sewing machine I find.  If she declines then I sell it at an antiques show.

Anyone have a good yard sale day?  Mine was OK, mostly junk at the sales I went to.  I did buy a Lladro figurine for .50 cents, I couldn't believe it when the lady told me the price.  I am glad too because I would have been mad that I got up so early if all I found were the few other little things I bought.  I finished the day well at the thrifts, got a nice wood frame for one of my birdie paintings for .50 cents (one down & one to go).  It was a the same thrift where I got the paintings too.  Also a new Vera Bradley handbag for 2 bucks!  The big splurge was a bag of 19 vintage hankies for 10 bucks.  Not the cheapest I ever found them, but they are quite pretty, though I found one with a hole Sad
