DD and I were out treasure hunting today.  One small town nearby had a town wide garage sale.
I found some broken jewelry bits, good for remaking into some new, but not much else til we hit the last place.  I scored two hand embroierded pillowcases, still in great shape for $.25 each, and s bag of vintage hankies for $1.
Not much else so DD and I headed to the Art in the PArk festival in town.  We had to park a couple of blocks away and as we were walking to the park, passed a yard sale.  So of course we stopped.
Not much till I saw a small box marked $2.  Not even opened.  So I opened it.  Inside, under a pile of junk jewelry (and ugly junk jewelry at that) I saw 2 rings, silver with big pieces of turquise and coral in them.  Real silver and real stones.  I put the lid back on the box and asked the lady who was there if the $2 was for the whole box.  She said yes and I whipped out the $2 and told DD I would meet her outside.  She gave me that What have you found look and said OK.
By the time she bought her stuff and got to the sidewalk I had already tried on the rings and found the one that fit me.  Squash blossom pattern I think it is called.  The other ring, a nice piece of a pretty color of turquoise, was a little too small for me but fit DD, so we each scored ok, for $1 each.
We got pretty good stuff for very little $$, which sort of made up for what I paid for a pretty little print at the art show. This is how you afford that I guess.
Oh and I scored 11 hardback books at the county library book sale for $4.
