Here's a plug for a non-thrift but totally with-it store in downtown Phoenix, AZ.

Buzzed downtown today to get some good quality album liners for my collection.  I'm replacing the often-time deteriorated / rotted/ spindled / bent/ or otherwise mutilated paper inner sleeves with high quality acid-free replacements.  I started in the Rock - Z's and am now into the J's.  Haven't started on the Jazz, Blues, Classical, New Age, Christmas, or Soundtrack sections yet.

They didn't have any in stock.

Bummer.

BUT

Their dollar bins were all 3 for a dollar, which makes them 3 times as thrifty as a typical Goodwill (and you're not FOREVER pouring over Barbara Streisand, Al Hirt, Jim Nabors, Evie, Living Strings, Boston Pops, etc. etc. etc.).  I scored some Errol Garner, Some Benny Goodman Sextet, Paul Horn, The Best of Martin Denny, and a bunch of other stuff out of the rock and Jazz sections.

Total take was 24 LPs for $10.47.

Psyched.  This is a nice infusion into my slowly building Jazz collection.

Only a big town could support a shop that still sold albums.
I'd have picked up the Denny..

When I saw it, I thought of you - this particular album had smaller illustrations of all his other albums on it.  The vinyl was in fine to mint shape, so that was a keeper.  Every now and then, everyone needs a little Martin Denny.
