I swear, I have the best luck in thrift stores when I donate stuff. I dropped off a LaserDisc player and a clock radio today, and seemingly in return for that, I came out with a spotless Nakamichi CR-2A cassette deck. I know at least three of you know how nice Nakamichi is, but for the rest of you...they made just about the best tape decks on earth. Even low-end ones like this one sounded supreme and still fetch on eBay. When I say this thing was spotless, I mean right down to the heads - I almost didn't need to clean them. It's singing Robert Palmer to me now. $20 well spent.

I also found a few LPs at the Sally, but there was even more stuff at one of the Goodwills. I ended up with 15 LaserDiscs. Because they were in with the LPs, they were priced like them: $1 each or 15 for $10. The stack:

When Harry Met Sally
Private Parts
84 Charing Cross Road
Trip To Bountiful
Field Of Dreams
Beverly Hills Cop
Roxanne
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Frankie & Johnny
Beetlejuice
Terms Of Endearment
The King Of Comedy
Grease
Peggy Sue Got Married
Casual Sex?

I'd better be careful about donating any more, because who knows what I'll end up with in return?!

Spotless Nakamichi $20 = one of the best deals of the year.

Zed, I salute you.
