I usually don't remember to look in the paper for tag sales on Friday, but glad I decided to head over to one today.  I got this 70's Sankyo clock that matches my freecycle chairs for 50 cents.  I don't remember the brand Sankyo, but I guess they are collectible, especially in orange.

My daughter will hate this as she hates the mustard yellow color and says the Danish modern chairs I got recently make the living room look like a 70's waiting room.  At the same tag sale I picked up a vintage Fisher Price turtle pull toy for 25 cents.   At the food bank thrift I picked up a pair of sterling and mop earrings for 50 cents and an new Elvis mug & coaster set in gift box for $1.25.  Tomorrow is a big church & tag sale day but nice to get a head start on a Friday!

My brother-in-law is into Elvis, so this was perfect because they are in a nice gift box and his birthday is next week.  It will go along with the other gift I got him also from the same thrift store!

Good luck at the church sale VTS!

I had pretty good luck at the church sales this weekend.  The first one I went to was just OK, kinda high prices compared to other church sales so all I got was a vintage Christmas tree skirt kit, the kind with sequins you sew on to a printed pattern. like the bucilla kits.

The second sale which is typically a great one was good once again.  Some highlights were a few pieces of vintage American tourister luggage.

Some shiny brite ornaments, a quarter for one box and some other little Christmas things, Gurley candles, etc 5 for a dollar.

I went back at noon for the dollar a bag sale and they were running out of bags so I ended up getting one of those big handled shopping bags which was great because I had looked at these paint by numbers paintings earlier in the day and they were four dollars each.  They fit in the bag so I got the tow plus a bunch of other junk for a buck!

Today I scored a vintage cat planter at the Sal Army for $1.50.  I saw it last week for 3 bucks but it was half price today so I couldn't pass it up.
