I still do really well. Those that are leaving eBay are shrinking the competition for the rest of us. Their fees suck, policies sometime suck too but you either play or you don't. Unfortunately (or fortunately)  they're the kings of traffic so what ya gonna do?

I have friends who sell on eBay, but they are selling very high end designer vintage and doing so-so -- sometimes fab, others not so much -- but definitely not as well as in the past. It's nice to hear that you're still doing well! You're right, they have the traffic although slowly Etsy is starting to catch up as word has gotten out about celebs that shop Etsy. So I'm hoping to do some tweaking over the summer and try, try again!as an ex dealer and brick and mortar shop owner I have too much great stuff clogging up my house and it's time for it to move on to good homes! Fingers crossed!

Good luck to you. No reason  you can't do well. My highest profit items are vintage clothing. I've just recently added retro wholesale items to build up some inventory.

Let us know how you do!

Thanks I will! (I'm back on my original user name, yay!)

I'm excited that this afternoon I have to go look at a lot of dresses from the 60s to 70s. Apparently the woman's father owned a dress manufacture and they found all this old dead stock. Can't wait to dig in! Vintage fabric too. Whoo hoo!

It was a bust. 80s secretary dresses, ugh.

Sweet of you to offer to help, thanks! Same here, if you ever run across something you have a question about, just give a shout! I've been buying, collecting, and selling vintage clothing for over 30 years and every so often I run across something completely baffling. I need to get my MacBook back from repair so I can post this one Kenzo piece that has baffled not only me, but fashion museum curators, and vintage clothing expert auctioneers here and abroad!

I'd love to know more about Yardsellr. From what I can gather, it's all through FB? What sort of items do you sell? Do you do as well as on eBay? Or Etsy? My main AC is that I dislike FB, so of course I'm leeryL

I think you can get into this way..My husband and I love it.. The owners use to work for Ebay I think..They got tired of feebay too..We love the site very easy to post and put as many pictures you want to. We sell stuff around the house and go out to garage sales and thirft stores..You can go through facebook or twitter.. Show where people look the most and that is twitter right now..i don't think you have to have a facebook account though. Helps to post your things you are selling though to post them so many people can see what you are selling.

Aziza88,

Thank you so much for this information! I have so many items that really need to go but that are difficult to list -- such as Fire King pieces and other housewares. I'm always so worried about packing, and hate raising shipping rates to make sure things get there safely. This sounds like it might be the perfect solution to my problems! I'm definitely checking it out this weekend, especially now that I know I can use twitter instead of the dreaded FB! Thanks again for all your help!  Grin

That fabric is lovely, I have a tablecloth in similar colours. And your luggage is to die for! I still have a train case used on my first flight in the early, early 70s (ack I'm aging myself!)  that is mustard coloured! I adore old suitcases, have them everywhere filled with bits and bobs in an attempt to keep my house from turning into an episode of "Hoarders"! javascript:void(0)

Those were great suitcases, they had silver lining fabric in them whick gave them a 50's Hollywood look. I did sell those.  I got them for 50 cents each at a church sale along with the fabric which was also in suitcase with other fabric for a buck.  That was a good sale.  It is hard to find vintage fabric these days, forget about thrift stores.  I haven't found good fabric at a thrift store in years.

Ooo silver lining? How glam! The last time I found fabric was in Scotland two years ago when I found about 6 metres of 50's barkcloth. That was a fluke as previously I don't think I've found fabric for at least 10 years!

Just sold a stationery set for $89.99 that I paid $1.51 for.

Love it when that happens.
