At Goodwill The Other Day I found 2 Coach Purses and a Louis Vuitton. All 3.00 each.  On Ebay the LV was going for 1,00.00.  My Dad tried to get me to put them on there I was like HECK NOOO.  I've wanted these FOREVER.  I was SOOO happy.

I've considered picking up stuff like that before, but I don't know enough about it to know if I have a fake or not.

LV fakes are quite common, some better done than others.  LV doesn't put out any bags that have less than 100% perfect stitching, so even if there is a little mistitch in there it is most likely a fake.  There are lots of good guides on Ebay to recognize fake Louis.  Ebay is also pretty strict with Louis listings.  You have to have some proof of authenticity to list it.  If you got a Louis at a thrift you can take it to a Louis store & have them verify it.  Some people get away with no certificate of authenticity, but if someone reports it they will remove your listing.

Coach on the other hand is easier to spot.  You usually can tell by the leather if it is real or not.  Read the inside label well too.

I had no idea about the certificates of authenticity. Wow.

I'm so out of it with these newer purses and what's in demand. The vintage ones yes, but with the designer stuff, I am so out of my league.

I never saw the value of the Louis Vuitton bags anyway, the design never really appealed to me.  I am off animal products all together, even wool.  Most of the world's wool comes from Australia where they have big commercial sheep farms.  In the wool removing process many sheep have their skin ripped off with the wool!

So much animal cruelty in the world- I don't want any part of it!

I think that's great! I say you should keep them, enjoy them, and sell them after they start to bore you! Just make sure you keep them in good shape. I've had really great luck with listing my older Coach bags, but I do wish I had thought to save dust bags! For the LV one is it really painted canvas? I've been to the store (just to drool over their Epi stuff), and I thought it was all leather, butmy friends says alot of the logo LV is painted canvas with leather trimming (really fantastic quality).

How fun!  I would love to find some good designer purses at Goodwill.  I did pick up a Kate Spade once but that's it.

I have a real Gucci and a real black patent leather Channel with the braided/gold handle, but they were given to me by my Aunt Dot who has been a thrifter for over 60 yrs at least! I have bought Guess bags in thrifts before and have even bought Guess bags and paid the full price...but a Louie? I want one, I want one....lol! I am spoiled though because I want the duffle Louie or some of their luggage, and yes where do you work or thrift? Anywhere near central Fla par chance?

There is an aqua Tod's bag in the case at our Goodwill - $75!  I'd never heard of it, but looking it up, goes for alot - that is, if it's not a replica!  I don't know how closely Goodwill checks this - have found D&B fakes there, marked as if they were real.....
