This is the find that got me addicted to the thrift stores.  Last fall I was looking for a small table for a plant.  I couldn't find anything I liked at the normal stores, so I decided to check the thrift stores.  The first one I looked into had this wonderful floor lamp for fifteen dollars.

I knew the plant would cover the little hole, so it would be perfect for what I wanted it for.  It took about four hours of cleaning and polishing before it looked like this.  I just love it and I kept all the lamp parts in case I want to turn it back into a lamp at some point.

That is really nice, nice polishing job too.  I think I would have kept the lamp in it and put some plants aound the lamp.

My mom has two half-circle pots that are to go around a patio umbrella on a picnic table.  I'm sure a pot like that would have looked great on that lamp table.
