I blew it today... I went to a thrift store today while at work, I do this often...but I let my fellow employees know < I dont smoke so I dont generally take our 2 alloted 15 min breaks a day> but if I go to a ts I will say hey Im gonna be out to the post office longer, Im gonna take my breaks today, and all is good. alas, today I didnt and I stopped at a TS, found a really cute 20 piece lenotex <melmac> set for 5 bucks in GREAT shape, so I bought it and as I was going to the car I dropped a daggone cup out of the bag...and cracked it. Thats bad karma for not telling ppl at work...sighs...Ive learned a lesson...

No, no, no, that is not bad karma.  You have a legal right to take breaks and you can do whatever you want on those breaks.  Do you need someone to give you permission to hit a thrift on your break?  Okay, I hereby give you permission.  Enjoy!  Grin

(The fact that you lie and tell your coworkers that you're going to the post office, though...hmmm, what's that all about?  I hereby give you permission to not feel guilty or embarrassed about going to a thrift.  Grin )

Yeah - I agree.

Bad Karma would have been dropping the WHOLE set.

Really bad karma would have been seeing the set in someone else's cart!

I had a job a few years back that required me to run errands like the PO or Costco.  I ALWAYS added a trip to the nearest thrift store into the run.  I never experienced a moment of guilt or regret over it.  As a matter of fact, I fully stocked the kitchen for my employer with dishes, coffeemaker, toaster oven, etc. from those thrift stores.  Everybody benefited from my on-the-clock thrifting.

I was in a back of a lady at the check out over the weekend.  She was buying 4 or 5 cup and saucer sets.  Hre church is  having a spring tea and  they didn't have enough teacups for everyone expected.  So she has been in ts looking for pretty sets for the tea.  They needed about 50 she said and she ahd been picking them up for a couple of months and had almost enough.  She bought some really pretty ones, no matches but she  wasn't trying to match anything.  Just find pretty teacups.  She said she hadn't paid more than a dollar per cup/saucer set, just finding white cup with floral designs.  Bet it will be a pretty table setting for the tea. Adn much nicer than using plastic/styrofoam cups. Guess if she was looking for the church she prolly was having good karma:)
