I had been getting burnt out on thrifting in my area due to lack of quality items and high prices i had been goin to auctions. one morning i hit up a thrift store and i found 6 russel wright chairs. i was on cloud 9. however  it didnt have aprice . this store is usually really high . i asked the lady how much and almost died when she told me 20 bucks for all 6. wow. i ran up to the register.  i also went to an estate auction saturday  i got a 1950s chrome and formica table with 6 chairs and got it for 80 bucks. 2 fire king jadiete flower pots for 20 bucks. this auction was cheaper then a thrift store. im gonna post the pics on my facebook.

Awesome job on the Russel Wright chairs, post a pic if you get a chance.  There was a really nice 50's table & chair set like the one you mentioned at the food bank thrift this summer but it had a big sold sign on it  Cry

There are alot of auction houses around here, but I have never been to an auction.  I should really go and check one out.  I am spoiled by my 50 cent thrift finds though so I am not sure if i would be willing to spend auction prices.

I know what u mean about auctions being so much higher. they usually are. this auction was crazy. they were cheaper then a thrift store. i was expecting to pay around 300 to 400 dollers for the table. it is in great condition . its red white and  black m it was out of a 94 year old womens estate. i also got a vintage" oh" chair for 4 bucks. and a mid century book case for 25.00. . im all about bargains. i love a good find at a great price. i did get some vintage ornaments at the thrift store for 2.50. the people who worked there asked me where i had been? lol.
