The other day I was browsing in my favorite thrift (so what else is new?)  Pickins have been mighty slim of late and I haven't found anything much of interest.  So I'm perusing the home dec section and what do I see?  The cutest figureine in the shape of a vintage sewing machine. When I picked it up I realized it was a lamp.  $3, 1/2 off.  So $1.50.  Now a small one I grant you, and uses a small bulb, so definetly mood lighting and not task lighting. But awfully cute.  And  perfect for my sewing room.  Likely still there and half off because it was in the section with all the figureines and no one else had realized it was a lamp.  Good for me.  Now if I can just keep it out of my daughters hands, but that is a whole other story.
