Last week my hubs and I hit the road for Winfield, Alabama, where his brother lives and where we were going to spend Thanksgiving.

We drove the whole way -- 19 hours from Philly to 'Bammy -- leaving at 9:15 pm Tuesday night.

At about 2:00 pm the following day, we were on the outskirts of Birmingham, when I saw the sign that sets all our heart aflutter: THRIFT.

It was a large-ish store.  And here's some of the things I got:

a Roseville vase in the Dahlrose pattern - $2.  It's got damage, but it's still worth WAY more than two bucks.

two sets of lacquerware trays -- one set decorated with crawfish, the other with winged bugs.  99 cents.

three sets cups/saucers of Syracuse restaurant china in the Jubilee pattern.  $3

and three vintage neckties.

I got some more neat stuff at other places.  And I think drove the in-laws nuts with my insistence that our free time be spent in thrift and antique shops.

Nice haul, I especially love the vase, I would have bought all those things too.  I never get to do much thrifting when visiting out of town relatives because I am the only one who likes thrifting, so you are lucky!

Jubilee was a great score.  Would pick that in a flash.
