Hi all -

I've been on a "thrifting high" since I came back from one of my favorite thrift shops this weekend and thought I'd share my story!
I love shopping at thrift shops. The key for me is to look at the fabric quality first, then the label. Anywho, I found a suit that was in perfect condition for $10.00. I didn't really need it, but the suit was made from super 100's wool and felt fabulous. The label stated the tailor who made the suit and the tailor's location. I had never heard of them. When I got home, I looked up the tailor and gave them a call - their custom suits START at $1895.00!!!
Just thought I'd share to all the other thrifters out there - good luck and may the thrifting gods smile upon you next time you're thrifting too!! Smiley

PS - I can't disclose the name of the shop or the name on the label - I love thrift shopping and love hearing and sharing stories of good finds; however, you are all my competition! LOL!

Thanks! I honestly don't understand the negative response some people have to thrift shopping. Perhaps some people think that the clothing will be ratty or dirty? When you buy clothes from any retailer, don't you wash them first anyway? I can't believe the wonderful things I have found at thrift shops. Sometimes I have found things that still have the tags on them! Not only is thrift shopping good for the shopper, it also benefits different charities and organizations as well as the environment. What could possibly be wrong with that?  Grin

Absolutely nothing.I am not ashamed to buy clothes from a thrift shop because I cannot afford to pay full price as I am on a budget.Just my two cents. Wink

I bet you dress better than many "retail shoppers" too!   Smiley
And anyway, why should anyone pay full retail prices when there are treasures out there waiting to be found at literally pennies on the dollar? I would much rather spend my extra money on other things, like house maintenance, trips, etc.!
It's funny, I used to love shopping at Ross, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, etc. but not anymore. There are two local thrift stores in my area that carry awesome clothes. I'm talking brand names, like JCrew, DKNY, Calvin Klein, etc. - I once brought home a whole trash bag full of clothes for around $70. You really can't beat it.

I love listening to everyones great finds but it is making me so anxious for spring.
Time to change the clocks tonight - hope that means warmer weather is coming in a few days too.

A fairgrounds north of here is holding a pre-spring cleaning indoor rummage sale (individuals bring their own stuff to sell) and I have no way to get there.

I attended the Newfoundland Dog regional last weekend so had to let "him" run off with my van to an autoracing show today.
Think of all the money I am saving staying home, right?
