My mom would like to hang that "OPEN" sign now - but dad would bar the door!  LOL   She'd like to pare down, but he won't let her.

Mom hated going through everything in her parents house.  She has already made it clear that she will have everything pretty much cleared out before she dies.  If there's anything us kids want we are to express our interest in the items now so she doesn't accidentally get rid of them.

Maybe all the old orange is still waiting in attics to be found and revived - I know I grew up with a brown/orange/gold living room, and my dad NEVER throws anything away, so I would bet their attic (which mom says needs going thru) is packed to the gills with 70s hues, and probably so are so many others - I think people who went thru the depression tend to hang on to everything, and leave it to their kids to go thru after they've passed.

For all of us mid-century lovers, there is a great magazine called "Atomic Ranch" that comes out 4 times a year.  The homes are fabulous (not too many thrifters there Cheesy ) and there are some great advertisers in there as well!

What I hope to make, with my vintage orange virgin wool yarn,is a scarf. Not that I will get a chance to wear it here in the tropics  Smiley, but the knitting of it will give me a chance to hone my skills (since I really don't have any knitting skills to begin with Grin)

I've been knitting almost as long as I've been alive.  If you like orange in your decorating, why don't you use your yarn for a table runner or a pillow.  You could felt the table runner so it's nice and dense.  I love knitting with wool more than any other fiber and I live in the desert so I know what it feel like to find a creative project that one can use in 100 degree heat!
