thanks everyone for checking it out, and the kind words!

i was just out perusing my usual thrift stores, and i didn't find a single thing. now, i was just there about a week ago, so maybe they just haven't gotten much new stuff since then.

how frequently do you go back to the same shops? i feel like i'm going to miss out on some cool stuff if i wait too long!

I go just about everyday, but one of my thrifts is less than a mile away & the other two are probably about 3 miles away so that is easy for me.  Anything good is gone within hours, so your chances of finding good stuff increases if you can stop by often.

yeah i can hit 4 in about a 5 mile radius. so i guess it's worth it to check them often.

one problem i have though, since i collect records, is sorting through the tons of records that they have. and most of the time they are the same old records i've seen a hundred times. i don't want to have to go through them all every time! but i do. hah

all this talk of LP's lately and now I'm thinking of the linear tracking turntable I picked up years ago that's somewhere in my mother's basement.  I never Ebay'ed it because it turned out that it needed a new cartridge, and I didn't want to put that kind of money in it at the time.

I just bookmarked it, and follow it I will!  There are so many good thrifting blogs out there these days that I spend as much time looking at other people's cool finds as I do hunting for my own.

You have to dig that bad boy out and get it up and running.  I'd love to know what kind it is.

Ooh...definitely try to get it running. Not often I hear about Mitsubishi tables. A respectable cartridge shouldn't run you more than $50.

Mitsubishi linear tracking turntables are great machines.  I had an LT-20 which I sold just before scoring all my Mitsubishi DA gear back in February 2005(?).  The LT-20 would have complemented it beautifully.  This was my actual turntable:

Mitsubishi also made VERTICAL linear tracking turntable:

which make great conversation pieces.

These vertical turntables also came as an all-in-one unit back in the early 1980's.  I had one just like this in College:

It was my first audio buy of any consequence, and I bought one with Polk Audio Monitor 5 speakers.  It was a great set-up.  I later sold it for about $150.00 (Bought it new for about $459.00)

I like that last turntable, the one you sold.  Can you mount it on a wall?  If so that would be perfect!
