I guess my user name says it all!  I have been collecting penguins since I was in high school, which is about 25 years now.

I also love vintage bracelets.

And when I shop for clothes, I will buy mainly those made in USA!  Those are the clothes worth recycling!

I saw a pair of glass penguin christmas ornaments at the SA today for .29 cents.  I almost bought them but reminded myself that I can't buy everything that is .29 cents cause I have too much stuff already!

I did happen to find the most awesome bracelet today for .99 cents, a vintage carved plastic bracelet with rhinestones marked Japan.  I was very excited!

The bangle is ivory white.  I can't believe it has all the rhinestones, usually their pieces are missng stones or have some other flaw.  I love the roses too!  I have a few big cocktail rings, but I always feel a little weird wearing them.  What do you wear your rings with?

You guys, those are so cool! You must have small hands to be able to get them on. I've seen bangles & not gotten them because my hands are so large I can't get them on. I'm what my mother used to call "big boned". Now I'll think of you when I see bangles like that.

When I wear my clunky bangles or huge fake cocktail rings, I usually do it with jeans and a simple T shirt or sweater. That way the jewelry is very deliberate and doesn't come off looking like I was trying to dress up and failed.

But that bracelet with the roses is just beautiful and would probably transition to modern dress clothes without looking clunky and out of place.

Valleythrift...What an awesome color, it will go with everything, being that the color is "basic" .....Pedeka...You took the words right out of my mouth, thats what I wear my big coctail rings (the bigger and guadier the better...lol...seeings as Iam a little person of only 4 feet ll inches) with and also sundresses and kitten heels! Akbjr...Yes Iam small boned to medium framed, the smallest thing on me though is my wrist, only 6 1/2 inches, I wish the rest of my body was that small...lol! And I have no trouble sliding the bangale over my hand as that is relativeley small also... Wink

Wow, oceangurl, you are small, I am 5'9" & just generally good sized. I wear women's size 11 shoes. When I was in my early adolescense I recall a shoe salesman trying to make a joke with my mother about cutting off my big toe (which is longer than the rest) so that the shoes would fit. Have always remembered that as it didn't sit well with a very size sensitive kid. I wasn't overweight at all, just "big boned" but it always made me feel larger than I really was & affected my clothing choices for years. Now thank goodness people are more sensitive to that kind of thing. Guess this is off the subject, but I appreciate your info about your size. Wish I could send bracelets like that to you, I'll think of you! LOL Guess each size extreme has it's own difficulties when thrifting, as there are many more clothes in size's medium & large than anything else. Oh, & my wrist size is over 7", but not sure exactly what, as I don't have a tape measure. I even wear a large ring size, like 10 or something.Smiley

Thats o.k. akbjr about you being  a little bigger then me, believe me just because iam little in height I still have 135 lbs on my body so the rest of me is medium sized...lol...iam not as small as some other very petite ladies, thats why I cant figure out how my wrist and hands are small, so with that being said some of my best friends are bigger people, beauty comes in all sizes and in all colors and dosent define who you are, Iam far from perfect and when I start thinking that way then Iam in deep trouble, so thanx for the comment and my sincerest compliments to the beautiful person you are! I wish my feet were 1/2 size smaller.  I wear a 7 1/2 and there are so many good shoes in 7 at thrifts, I find.  All the new or like shoes tend to be between 6 & 7, I have tried on so many 7's hoping maybe 1 will fit, but they are almost always just a wee bit too small.  Actually there tend to be some good ones at the other end of the spectrum too, like 10 & 11.

I find department store rings are always really big, like size 8.  You can find some cute real gold or silver stuff at TJ Maxx on clearance sometimes.  They are usually too big for me, but if you have a bigger hand, you may find some good stuff there!

Interesting, enjoyed the comments from everyone, I used to feel like a "giantess" even though I really wasn't, but with age comes perspective, thank God. Size becomes less of an issue & being thankful for health & blessings becomes more important. \ Cheesy Thanks everyone, you're all great!
