I got this really cool vase at GW a few months ago. I think I paid around $3 for it but, as I am a glass fan, it flew into my arms and made me take it home!  And, btw, I have been known to even wear orange!![  Does anyone know anything about this kind of glass.  The partial label waas retrieved from the bottom of the vase

I got the vase at the Cheswick, PA Goodwill Store.  That is a rare find for that location!

ok - i got a new orange lamp this weekend at the local church yard sale. my daughter found it. i said "should we really get it?? do we need a lamp?" and my daughter (i've raised her well..) said "mom. Embarrassed of course we should get it. it's 2 bucks!"
so now i have this incredibly LARGE flame red-orange lamp which is desperate for a new lampshade. WHERE on earth do i find a new lampshade the size i need?? it's dimensions are 15, 21, 21 (in lampshade terms that means the top is 15 inches, the bottom 21 and it's 21 long! it's huge~!!)

anybody got some ideas for cheap lampshade website? i was going to redo this one, but it's totally rusted and bent beyond repair. plus of course i'll look at the thrift store...

WhatwhatWHAT?Huh You buy this mother of all orange objects in the universe and you don't post a pic?  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Help me, I'm "drownding" of curiousity!!!!  Roll Eyes

I must see a pic of this orange wonder or I shall have an asthma attack.  Grin

I don't know if the world makes big lampshades like that any more. I've had to get all mine at thrifts. But keep looking, because you know one will turn up eventually. Or try eBay, but I will suggest that it might be expensive to ship.

That vase is Murano Italian glass - didn'thave time to do much digging but vetreria artistica googles up Murano glass.  So....it is VERY COOL and maybe a very good investment!

Thank you for the information. I thought it was some sort of murano.  I have other pieces but they are not as varigated as this vase.  The longer I have this vase , the more I am appreciating it's beauty.  :O)

sorry seso - i've got it in pieces now! hopefully in a couple of weeks it will be recreated and in use, and i can get a photo. i had to toss the lampshade, and we went to pick up the base and it was crawling with ants and ant eggs!!!! Shocked it was pretty nasty inside.. now i have to rewire it as well - the cord isn't polarized and everything looked pretty rusty. it's going to be a big rebuild. there's a chip in the top - the white ceramic is showing through. i've got to figure out what to "color" that with so it blends well... i now understand why someone wanted to toss it! it's going to cost a bundle to bring it back to life (plus the time..) but it WILL be beautiful! i'm determined! plus, it's taking up a huge space in the living room Cheesy

Oh bummer! Doncha just hate when you buy something and it is dirty, or damaged or needs more work then you knew? I have done that a few time with clothes, on impulse bought it and then got it home and it had a stain or no button or the hem was coming losse. But Iam glad your going to give the ole gal a new life, I probabley would have done that to, I have done that with the clothes like I said, well good luck to you and dont forget to post a pic of your newfound project! lol! Cheesy

Sadly, I recently gave away an orange plaid swivel rocker that was soooo comfy. It would have gone great with the rest of your orange stuff. It didn't blend at all with my retro wine barrel furniture, although that set does have orange diamonds in the upholstery. Love the lamp!!
