Oh no, I didn't mean to but I picked up 5 Harkerware dinner plates.  I think they are Chesterton Pink Cocoa.  Nice, no chips or scratches.  Except my husband asked me last night just what did I plan to do with all MY dishes.   Wink  Why use and enjoy them. of course. Grin

Krisathorn,

Not long ago I picked up a couple Harkerware plates. I don't know the colors or the patterns for these, but they are the Cameoware. They have a heart and flowers pattern, and the color is...hm...aqua, I think. (They are at home, and I'm at work right now.)

Do you know anything about this pattern? I haven't looked on the Web yet to find a good information site.

Wanted to share a story that only dishaholics will appreciate. At my local Goodwill store, I found a box from the Homer Laughlin company, of Fiesta dishes. It was the original box that a set of the Fiesta dishes would come in. It was so cute! Inside were some dishes, but they weren't Fiesta. I can't imagine how that box turned up or why the GW workers put it out for sale, unless somebody knows about Homer Lauglin OR somebody donated the dishes in that HL box!!

I haven't researched this, but I think Fiesta is still manufactured. The box might not have been that old, but the fonts sure looked old and it was an odd size, too.

I didn't buy it because I didn't want the dishes inside and now I'm kicking myself for not asking if I could buy the box or buying the whole thing just to get the box. But then, what would I do with the box? I just thought it was interesting.

My heart would have stopped if I saw a Fiesta box at a thrift,  I would have been so disappointed when I opened the box though!  They do still make Fiesta, but if the box was an old one it would have been worth picking up, especially if they let you have it for free!

Femme1, I don't really have any set places that I look up the dishes I find.  I like replacements.com because they have good pics and the names of the dishes.   As far as Harkerware this is a semi good website  http://www.hillhousewares.com/category0maker37.html\

Dang, I did it again!  Opps didn't mean to sound like Britney Spears.  Anyway found a brand new set of Red Wing CeramaStone Charstone Bleu.  No box but that's ok.  One of the dinner plates has a round label on the back the diameter of the plate itself.  It has the original price list of the dishes on it.  Too fun!  May not use them, just display them with the label facing out.  Geesh, my house is starting to look more and more like a store.  So says my friend, she likes it but it can be overwhelming to some.  I'm NOT a minimalist, ok?! Definitely, use it!  Grin

Perhaps we could start a new design movement---Maximalism. There will be a show at the Guggenheim!

It'll feature my vintage stainless-steel-edged formica kitchen countertops (aqua with brown scritchy-scratchies) loaded with retro cannisters, butter dishes, the chrome Sunbeam Mixmaster I just found at a thrift last weekend, 50s dishtowels, and my dish collections; my collection of teapots and ball pitchers that sit atop my cabinets; and the wall covered with odd bits and pieces of stuff I've picked up at yard sales. Of course, TSR's apartment will fit right in with her gaudy boudoir lamp and assemblages of nostalgic Victoriana.

Most of us on this forum are probably Maximalists, perhaps with the exception of Scott!  Cheesy

I'd say we need a t-shirt for "Maximalists Unite", but the logo design would be too cluttered. Smiley
