It was a really nice. I got some Star trek blue prints and did alot of publicity for the site, including adding a few more thrift stores to the directory.
It was really great meeting an avid forum participant.
Jay, Troy McClure (Robert), Cookie and I all had a good time.
We ate lunch at an amazing diner called "Famous Steve's". The food was fantastic!
Robert left us at 2pm to go get his son and we 3 continued shopping for a couple more hours..

Picture #1 is Jay and Robert looking over some HiFi..

Picture #2 is Robert goofing on me for being a Trekkie

Picture #3 is an out of focus pic of Cookie and Jay talking about sewing machines

Cookie got a Wilton cake decorating set and some books..

I got some Avon items, a Nescafe creamer and sugar container and some Bill Cosby records besides my Star Trek blueprints. Not a great haul, but a fun day.
I did pass up an older General Electric receiver that was pretty nifty, but I talked myself out of it.
The Nescafe set seems to have been a great buy, we'll be keeping an eye out for more of the coffee mugs..

Jay got a nice Pyrex bake ware piece and a great kitchen dry goods organizer.
Post a pic of that pal....

Can't wait to see the pics and glad you all had such a great time.

Maybe in September you and Cookie and me and the DH can finally do that lunch!

Love your Nescafe cups!

Back in 1986, hubby and I drank Nescafe (we could get it cheap w/double coupons). If you saved enough of the labels, you could send in for those mugs. I think there was a small shipping fee.

I got him four of those mugs (I couldn't afford to actually *buy* anything at the time). We still have 'em, and found a fifth one thrifting last year.  He loves those mugs, lol. They wear well.

Does one of your have a lid with it?

Cookie, Congrats on the Wilton!

Love that lion in the background in pic #1

You are all cuties Wink

C'mon, Jay, give up a pic on the Pyrex!

I'll take some pics tomorrow.  It was a lot of fun.  I wish we had time to go to more shops, but they were starting to close on us.  I hope we see a lot of new members from the Daytona area in the coming weeks.  Michael left a lot of flyers at every stop we made today.  I was suprised that there were a couple of shops that I didn't know about, and there were at least 2 that I took us to that were not in the database.

The pyrex is the largest piece in the refrigerator set in the pink gooseberry pattern.

I love the pink gooseberry pattern. My mom, who had no pink of any other kind (she loved 70s harvest colors-- not my fav), had that. I think someone gave it to her, but I was always fond of it.

Funny when you see a bowl and think of your mom!

Ok, I just found out that the upload limit for attachments applies per post, not per attachment so I have to do this in 2 posts.  Here is the breadbox/cannister set.

When's the next time you'll be here ChrisMiss?

We won't be back in the Tampa FL until mid-November.  Then right after Christmas we'll head down to Key West for 6 or 8 weeks.

Those are some cool finds Jay.  That canister set will look great in a '50's kitchen.

I've seen some of those Nescafe cups but they are getting harder to find.

TSR yes it's funny how we'll see a bowl or something and it reminds us of our mom's kitchen.  My mom used to have a big bowl in the Jewel Tea Autumn Leaf pattern.  I've always liked that pattern and it reminds me of good meals cooked as a child.  A few years ago I stumbled across a tea pot at a thrift store in the Autumn Leaf pattern.  It also had a cool shape that reminded me of a Jeanie lamp.  I bought the tea pot and when I got it home I found it had a good sized chip on it but the colors were still wonderful.  My MIL is great at flower arranging so I asked her to make a floral display using the teap pot.  It looked great.  So when we moved out of our house I gave it to her.  She loves it and it sits beautifully in her kitchen.

ChrisMiss-- what a great story. There's so much you can do with something that's just a little chipped-- it's nice to see people appreciating an item for it's nice shape, great color, or fond memories, instead of focusing on the chips.

Yep, Jay, that was mom's dish. She also had a big pink mixing bowl with I believe white gooseberries on it.

Ah, good times. :-)

Yes, this pattern alternated between pink bowls with white berries, and white bowls with pink berries.

Looks like you all had fun!  The gooseberries Pyrex dish makes me think of my Gramma's as she had a gooseberry bush.  Ah, memories!
