Hello, fellow thrift lovers!  I just found this website and had to sign up.

I live in the Fox Cities area of Wisconsin and there is plenty of things to find in the area.  I've become quite thrifty over the past five years -- I wish I would have done it sooner!

I have expensive taste, but my budget doesn't allow many of the things I like and want.  However, I have discovered that thrift stores are one of the best places to get many of those things that I would have normally not been able to purchase.  For example, just today I bought a Nine West dress for $4.99 and an authentic Sak purse for $9.99 at the local Goodwill.

I must say that I have become rather addicted to thrift shopping.  When I go on vacation next month, I'm going to have to spend a couple of days going through my large stash of clothes, shoes and purses and either sell them or donate them.

It's good to be here among those who have also have a love for thrift!

Hi, awesome to meet you, I'm a relative newby also. Isn't thrifting an addiction though? Sounds as though you've had some great finds. I live in Anchorage, still waiting for someone else in Anchorage to write in....? Anyway, you'll enjoy it here. barb

Should have added that I grew up across the "Big Lake" from Wisconsin. Grew up in Grand Marais, Minnesota. Used to strain my eyes trying to "see Wisconsin" across Lake Superior. There are a lot of transplanted upper midwesterners here in Alaska. I've met a number of Wisconsinites. Anyway, this site rocks!

Oh, Seward is a terrific town, my best friends run a hostel there during the summer. It's a beautiful setting, small town, warm people, moderate coastal climate. If you know him well enough, suggest that he read a book called, "Looking for Alaska" by Peter Jenkins. He's the guy who wrote the "Walking across America books, anyway, he lived here for a year using Seward as a base while he traveled around the state & wrote his book. Your pastor friend would probably really like the book. It's a great introduction to Seward & Ak both.
