Lofter Of Thrift, Protector of Jive

Hello everyone!  This is such a great site.  My name is Will and I am a thrift store addict.  Working within walkinf distance of a few great stores really does not help matters much.  I like to shop for anything from vintage aloha shirts to electric guitars.  I always seem to find something that I 'need' at a thrift store.

Hi Will, welcome to the forum.  I think we're all thrift store addicts here.  If you gotta' have an addiction I guess thrifting is the best one to have!

Welcome to the nut house, Will.  You'll find plenty to add to the on-going conversation.

Look around, browse, and enjoy.

That is all.

Yeah, funny how you always seem to find a "need" for something at a thrift store. Guess that's why I have three cassette decks and several hundred LPs too many!

Glad you found us.

Don't know about anyone else... but I pass on a lot of new/trendy things because I don't have a whole lot of disposable income.  But, if the item makes it to the thrifts and is a good buy -- well, then I'll re-adjust my thinking on whether I "need" it or not!

Case in point: a very reasonably priced pair of Chuck Taylors...

Thrifting allows us to turn a "want" into a reasonable enough "need!"

Thriftily,
Alexandra

Welcome Sprocket!  You've come to the right place for thrifters, that is a fact!  What do you "need" at thrifts? Do tell...

Love your new pic, Alexandra (and your Chuck Taylors, too)! Wink Wink

Thank you all so much for the warm welcomes...I feel so loved here =)  Alexandra is exactly right...I never thought I'd ever own an original Hilo Hattie aloha shirt...too pricey...In the last 3 years I've found 8 in local thrift stores and I've bought them all.  4 were brand-spankin new!  I found a sweet little 10watt guitar amp for $5 at a Goodwill on Monday and scored a righteous electric guitar for $34 on shopgoodwill.com.  Thrifting rules!  In fact, I feel the urge to 'thrift-splore' right now...ttyl and thanks again everyone.

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there, you're as welcome as can be. Cheesy

You are lucky to have thrift stores within walking distance.  The only one close enough for us to walk to is only open Tuesdays from 7 to 12 between October and June if it's not raining and the moon is full or something like that.
