Hopefully now I can correct it.  I have posted a few times but never introduced myself  Embarrassed  My name is Wende, I live in PA.  I thrift in PA, MD and when I can get away from work the DC northern VA area.  Hmm... I seem to buy whatever tickles my fancy (within reason of course) but seem to go for music, books, videos and some cookbooks.  Cookbooks are a strange collection cause I rarely cook.

Hopefully everyone will have a great holiday season.  Please forgive my faux-pas.

Thats OK, when I first found this site I was very excited to find many postings about things I bought or collected so it is easy to skip the intros and just dive into the topics.

I like old cookbooks and craft books (I just bought a bunch today) but don't cook or craft so much, though I would like to do more.  They are just fun to look at!

I think there are many people here from your area hopefully you can get some thrifting recommendations.  I look forward to hearing about your thrift store finds!

While in PA don't miss the Jubilee Thrift Store and Bologna Outlet-2 locations
The name of the store makes me laugh. Run by the Mennonites. Go immediately to the clearance room. They know an vintage find when they get one but you can score lots of great stuff in the clearance room. My friend and I did all the thrift stores along highway 81 with our dogs. You can shop with your dog in PA thrift stores if the dog stays off the floor-in the shopping cart is fine.  Also the humane society thrift store that is in an old gas station near Lebonan is great.

Wonder if the carts are large enough for a 165 pound baby with wide hips?  I thrifted her for Christmas - a 3 y/o Landseer Newf that someone else no longer had time for. A true Chrsitmas angel.
Have to chime in and admit I look at the cook books, but that is DH  and my mother's downfall. At least DH does cook for special occassions.  I have rarely passed up a craft book and can honestly say I have a larger collection than out public library.  (Is that something to brag about?)
I do enjoy craft dabbling and dream of someday making it pay for itself.  (A girl's gotta dream.)
I have decided to no longer collect Tiggers, unless I see one that is irresistably cute or rare, and be selective on the Boyds I pick up.  I was influenced by some other members of this group to get "the Fever" - and added a few glass additions to my kitchen - but I think the bug has passed.
No more cupboard space.  My new addiction is molds and cutters - supposed to be for pastries, but I am using them for poly clay.  Get excited just thinking about the possibilities. This is going to be one loooong cold winter.
