Welcome to the forum.  You'll have to post pictures of all your recreated dolls.  It sounds like fun and really creative.

My daughter lives in Rushville IL.  When I visit her we go thrifting in Springfield and Jacksonville, pretty good thrifting there.

I'll have to keep an eye out for those ornaments, didn't know that old plastic had such a fan club.

I will have to keep an eye out for those ~kewl~ ornaments.

I wonder if geographic location may have anything to do with what we all recognize (as well as age, of course Cheesy) since I also grew up in the 60s)  Maybe Jewelbrites were more of midwest thing?

Here's a link to shineybrites:

And honestly, until the ebay phenomenon occured several years ago, I didn't even know what shineybrites were. I just knew I liked my parents' Christmas tree ornaments Grin

We haven't been further in IL than Jerseyville in a long time - need to take our kids to Chicago, so much to see there!   and hit Springfield, too - heard there is a nice museum (wasn't there when I was, back in sixth grade eons ago)
I have a website with some of my creations - see here:

Love your dolls!  They have a 60s-70s sunshiney vibe to them! Healthy and wholesome
mod and sweet.  Of course, Miss Betty Boop Bride is my fave!

Welcome to the boards! From Minnesota here!

I like your dolls. I've also dabbled in Barbie repainting/creating. Kinda fun!

Thanks for the compliments!   I haven't done any full dolls lately - just repairs and reroots, as well as sewing.   Little overalls seem to be popular amongst doll collectors....
